Brand: La Perruche
The Perruche. These irregular cubes of 100% pure cane sugar are the emblem of the brand. Each traditional piece of La Perruche pure cane is a true gourmet instant with the unique flavor of real cane sugar. 100% pure cane sugar of exceptional quality. Irregular lumps made with a mixture of fine sugar and coarse cane grains that melt in hot drinks and crackle at the end of the tasting. Large pieces are more likely to find their place in morning breakfast bowls. The small pieces will melt smoothly into all hot beverages, coffee, tea or herbal teas and espresso lovers will particularly appreciate the subtle flavor of the small piece of brown sugar. In the late 18th century, France was the first country to the cane sugar trade in Europe and the port of Nantes played an essential role in the processing of sugar cane from the Caribbean islands. The Perruche is the fruit of a family saga from Nantes: the secret recipe with a delicious flavor was invented in 1828 in André Cossé's confectionery. In 1856, the two sons took up the torch and created a refinery in Nantes. From the authentic and fragrant sugarcane juices of the islands, they continue to produce traditional sugars, without changing their father's original recipe. In 1889, the unique flavor of its brown sugars won several medals at the Universal Exhibition in Paris, made famous by the Eiffel Tower. This exceptional recognition gave rise, the following year, to the “à la Perruche” brand.
