Description

Penja white pepper is harvested at full maturity and sun-dried in the Moungo province (Cameroon). All production stages (harvesting, fermentation, washing, drying, selection) are completely manual and mainly carried out by the skilled hands of local women. Today, Penja pepper enjoys worldwide gastronomic recognition. In 2014, it became the first Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) in Africa.
