Can Bech opened the doors of his restaurant in 1981 in Fontanílles (Baix Empordà-Girona) in the Bech family's pairal house. One of the most famous dishes was the "recuit de drap" with figs from the Empordà, a typical dessert made with fresh goat's milk cheese with figs confit. The success of the figs prompted the Bech family to start making and preserving them in glass jars to sell to their customers and nearby stores. Today, figs in syrup are still the company's specialty and Premium jams, jellies, sauces and chutneys complete the product range.
